Join us for this one of a kind workshop instructed by Skin City owner and Skin Wars judge, Robin Slonina!
In this 2 day weekend workshop, Robin will teach you the same painting techniques she uses to create amazing works of art for her clients!
If you've watched shows like Skin Wars and even Face Off and thought you'd love to create beautiful camouflage body painting art, then now is your chance!
In this workshop you will get hands on body painting experience, photos of your work and a live audience as your living art becomes a special one day only gallery event and reception inside Tom Devlin's Monster Museum!
On day 1, Robin will show you the techniques you'll need to expertly paint your model to camouflage them into a background. You will practice on yourself and we'll take photos of your work.
On Day 2, you will choose a location inside of Tom Devlin's Monster Museum where you will work with your model to use the camouflage body painting techniques you've learned to blend them into the museum! At the end of the day, your work will be on display for the public to view along with a reception from 6-8pm.
This workshop is good for all skill levels from the most inexperienced beginner to advanced artists!
Q. When is the workshop?
A. The workshop will be Saturday and Sunday, August 22-23, 2020. Saturday we will meet from 10am-5pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
On Sunday plan for a longer day from 11:30 to 8pm. You will arrive at 11:30 to setup your work area, and you'll have from 12pm-5pm to work on your camouflage body painting. From 5pm-6pm you and your model will have a chance to take a break before the reception which will run from 6-8pm.
Q. Where is the workshop taking place?
A. Tom Devlin's Academy of Make-up and Monsters is hosting the workshop in our classroom facilities located adjacent to Tom Devlin's Monster Museum, 1310 Boulder City Pkwy, Boulder City, NV 89005
Q. What do I need to bring with me?
A. Just yourself and your creativity! A basic Mehron 8-color palette and small brush set will be provided, but bring your own brushes and skin-safe bodypaint, if you’ve got some! (Note: all materials brought in must be clean and will be sanitized again on-site.) Actually you will need one more thing...(see the next question!)
Q. Who is going to be my model?
A. We are asking that you please find your own willing participant to model for you on Sunday. If you really want to participate in this workshop but cannot find a model, please reach out to us and we will do our best to help you find one.
Q. Is this class good for my kid?
A. If you have a child that is 12 - 16 years old that is interested in taking the workshop, we just ask that a paying adult accompany them by participating alongside. No kids under 12 please.
Q. What other questions do you have?
A. Call or text Kayla at (702)291-1313 and she'll be glad to find you answers!
